The Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering (CNITECH) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) filed 476 patent applications in 2019, accounting for 13% of the total 3657 patent application fillings, thus ranking first among scientific research institutions in Zhejiang province, according to the Provincial Patent List of 2019 relesed recently.

In 2019, the institute became the first scientific research institution in Zhejiang Province to meet the national standards for intellectual property management for scientific research and development organizations.

Meanwhile, two invention patents of CNITECH won the 21st Excellent Patent Award of China.

CNITECH has attached great attention on the intellectual property since its founding. By the end of 2019, the institute had applied for more than 4,000 patents, and more than 1800 patents (including 38 patents under PCT) and 60 software copyrights were issued.

In the future, the institute will strive to strengthen support for the industrialization of scientific research achievements, promote the creation, application, management and protection of intellectual property, and provide service related to intellectual property for local enterprises.
